Every one of us loves to have beautiful skin. Healthy diet, fruits and drinking plenty of water is a way for great looking skin. We go through numerous skin care products to get our skin beautiful.

Finding a skin care routine that works well for you is like a never ending quest. With numerous products, different suggestion, advices and recommends around, it can be confusing to know which products work well together for your skin type. Follow the suggestions step by step to get best result with your skin:

Firstly, know your skin type. Different skin types are genetically determined but choosing the best skin care for your face and body is essential so find out your skin type at first.

Normal skin
This kin has good circulation and there will not be any trace of sebum (or oil) on the tissue. Normal skin is soft with a smooth even skin tone. Anti- aging, acne and sensitivity are not concerned with this skin type. It does not get too dry or too oily and gets blemish occasionally. People with normal skin should moisturize, cleanse and use a spot treatment for best result.

Oily skin
Oily skin is easy to identify. If your face is visibly shiny and feels slightly wet while touching, then you have oily skin. It leaves blots of facial oil on the tissue, particularly from the cheeks, nose and forehead. Oily skin can be caused by hereditary factors, diet, hormone levels, pregnancy, unsuitable cosmetics and stress leading to acne flare ups and enlarged pores. It is vital to thoroughly clean the skin gently with soap-free cleansers. If you have oily skin, you should tone, exfoliate, use a spot treatment and lightly moisturize once in a while.

Dry skin
It has low level of sebum and does not maintain oil easily. Dry skin is flaky and feels tight after being wiped. Dry skin can be caused by lack of hydration or malnutrition. Dry skin can look rough and bumpy, and rarely gets oily. Gentle cleansing and a rich protective moisturizer for dry skin are essential to control that tight and uncomfortable feeling. Adjustment with changing season is hard with such skin type. Those with dry skin should find a deep moisturizer, use a spot treatment and use moisturizing night solution.

Combination skin
Combination skin can be a little of just about every skin type. Has oil produced around T-Zone of the nose and forehead but not on the cheeks, mouth and eye areas. The rest of your skin may be normal. A lot of people have combination skin. The best skin care for combination skin type will involve treating each region differently, exfoliate, cleanse, moisturize, and use a spot treatment. For nighttime treatment, use cleanser and toner then use antioxidant serum with brightening ingredients like Vitamin C and algae extract as well as naturally revitalizing ingredients like rosemary and peppermint and then moisturize.

Sensitive skin
It can be caused by skin conditions such as rosacea, eczema or allergies. Sensitive skin can become inflamed and irritated easily. If you burn very easily, have reactions to certain cosmetics, and have irritated skin after a dramatic change in weather, then you have sensitive skin. Sensitive skin is very hard to deal with. You have to thoroughly test products before risking a purchase. It is important to choose the right skin care for sensitive skin because many cleansers and moisturizers contain ingredients that can cause an adverse reaction. If you have sensitive skin, use a moisturizer, cleanser, and spot treatment all suitable for sensitive skin.

Taking care of skin:
Step 1. Cleanse
Cleansing removes sweat, dirt, oil, makeup and other pollutants that your skin accumulates day and night. Cleanse your skin in the morning and evening to keep pores clean and your face fresh. It will also stimulate the blood circulation in your face, rejuvenating your skin to a healthy glow. Your cleanser may vary based on skin type, but with all cleansers, generally is applied using an upward, circular motion so as to prevent wrinkles from forming.

Normal skin:
Use mild glycolic acid or non –soap wash that will not strip away too much oil but will still help eradicate dirt and dead skin cells trapped in pores. A sulfate free cleanser with a gentle lather will help your skin blemish free.

Oily skin:
Your main goal is to keep pores clear and do not over dry as it can result in rebound greasiness. Use oil free foaming cleanser to wash your face. Rinse plenty with warm water and pat dry.

Dry skin:
Use gentler cleanser that does not have alcohol or fragrance. Gently wash your skin then rinse with plenty of warm water. A no-foam, no-lather, super mild cleansing lotion is best for dry skin.

Sensitive skin:
Steer clear of irritants, such as glycolic and alpha hydroxy acids, and use a cleanser with calming ingredients, like feverfew, aloe and oatmeal.

Step 2. Tone
Many people tend to skip the toner in the morning. But it is actually very important step because it balances the pH of your skin and prepares it for moisturizing. Well formulated toners smooth, soften and calm skin removing last traces of makeup. They also add vital skin replenishing ingredients after cleansing. They also help diminish the look of redness and dry patches.

Oily skin:
You may want to use a toner or astringent after you have washed your face but be careful because it might irritate your skin. They can remove extra oil, making your face less shiny, and help keep skin clean. Use alcohol free toner that has ingredients like sodium PCA, geranium and witch hazel.

Step 3. Exfoliate

Step 4. Moisturizer with Sunscreen
All skin types will benefit from moisturizers because they contain the types of ingredients which will help your skin look smoother, perfectly hydrated and visibly younger. Apply it while your skin is still damp from washing or rinsing to help seal in moisture. This essential morning step keeps your skin protected from visible effects of sun damage. It must have an SPF 30 or higher rating and offer broad-spectrum protection. Sunscreens with antioxidants are essential to protect your skin from UV light exposure which is cause of wrinkles, uneven skin tone, loss of firmness and many other signs of aging. Apply moisturizer on your face and neck. Pay special attention to the area around your eyes and lips, which can get excessively dry.

Sensitive skin:
When it comes to choosing a moisturizer, make sure to find the one that does not contain synthetic fragrances as it can cause irritation and allergic reactions. Avoid alcohol and synthetic dyes as well. Zinc oxide sunscreens are the least likely to irritate sensitive skin. Titanium dioxide sunscreens are good but not as compatible with medium and darker skin tones because they can leave a white cast. Use a cream with antioxidants like green tea and pomegranate. An antioxidant serum, layered underneath day cream, will give you anti-aging benefits while also providing extra moisture.

If you have acne or your skin is oily, find a moisturizer that is lightweight and oil-free, so it does not block your pores.

For dry skin, use a highly potent antioxidant serum (look for vitamins E, A and C) during the daytime to help prevent collagen breakdown—just make sure to follow with SPF.

Few other things to consider when you are taking care of your skin are never wear your makeup to bed. Makeup can clog your skin pores and cause acne. So use a gentle cleanser or makeup remover to wash it off. Wear your sunscreen every day, even if it is not sunny and even if it is cold. The sun rays can reflect off water, sand and snow. Do not wash your skin too much or you will end up drying your skin, so twice a day is fine. In the morning, rinse your face with lukewarm water. Use a soft towel to pat it dry. At night, washing with a cleanser or gentle soap helps get rid of the day’s dirt and makeup. To add a little something special to your skin care regimen look for products containing nourishing oils.
